This lesson plan asks students to create a new, original film or podcast that is based on a specific element from a text (either a film, written text, or podcast). Students will analyze their chosen text, focusing specifically on character, theme, narrative style, use of sound, or setting analysis. This project will be taught asynchronously over the course of 5-6 class periods. 

Students will create a tour of the topic they have been assigned. Topic will center around the rock cycle including formation of rocks, and weathering and erosion of rocks. Students will use a minimum of 6 original photos and 2 CC images to complete the assignment. Students will need to include the important elements they are supposed to convey and will teach the other class members in a jigsaw using Jamboard. The students will have 3 weeks with 10 lessons to complete the assignment. This lesson teaches students about Digital Citizenship. It covers standard 2A from the ISTE Standards for students and Strand 2 standard 6 and 8 from the DIgital Literacy Sandards and Strands.

This lesson is designed to help high school students assess their current social media footprint and take steps to design a public digital portfolio as part of their understanding of digital citizenship.

In this lesson, students will be asked to read a grade level appropriate story and make a digital storyboard that includes the basic elements of the story. These elements are: characters, setting, beginning, middle and end.  They will illustrate the key elements of the story and use Apple Keynote to create and present a digital slideshow retelling of the story.

This lesson plan was created for middle school or high school special educators to use for their peer tutors. This lesson will engage students in understanding the impact the Dominguez & Escalante expedition had on Native American tribes living in Utah and the eventual settlement of Utah. Students will be assessed by creating an Apple Pages project wherein they demonstrate their understanding of the two issues. Students are asked to create an essay including images about the Dominguez & Escalante expedition.
