It is meant to guide educators through creating lesson plans that contain all the necessary components for teacher and student success. Remix this template each time you create a lesson to share in eMedia. When you edit each section of the lesson plan template, delete the template description and add your own content. Add files and links to each section as needed. Remember to replace the preview image with an openly licensed image or screen capture that represents your lesson. After completing each lesson plan section included in this template, you will click "next" at the top of your screen. This is when you will replace this overview with your own brief description of your lesson. You will also be asked to finalize your lesson details (metadata), including connecting it to state curriculum standards. Please do not skip these details. These choices are what align your lesson to state standards and help others search for resources in eMedia. Thank you for contributing to eMedia!

The Science Experiments lessons are geared for students in middle school and early high school grades. The lessons are designed help the student gain a greater understanding of the forces and behavior of the physical world. This is done using methods of observation, measurement, and data analysis. By incorporating the micro:bit in the experiments, the lessons are a great way to teach both science and computing in the same activity.

These lessons guide the student in hands-on, practical measurement activities along with using the micro:bit to control and record data for the experiments. Each lesson provides an overview of the activity, outlines expected results, explains the setup of the experiment, and the gives a coding activity to measure and collect the data.

In this lesson, students will research, organize and create a 2-3 minute digital story about 1 of 3 different cultures that have influenced Utah's culture. They can choose from the Fremont People, the Ute Indians, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pioneers. There are some background lessons and information that will need to be covered in order to finish this final project for 4th grade Utah Social Studies Standard 2 Objective 1. These lessons are linked and highlighted in the Teacher Background section of this lesson plan. There are a few worksheets and mini-lessons (that can be taught in a synchronous manner) associated with this final project that could take 2-3 days to complete and then the digital story can be finished in an hour or two. The final presentation and the mini assignments could all include small group discussions, whole class instruction, and could easily be tailored to teach to students learning virtually. The mini-lessons and supplimental information were found through the UEN website and a youtube video by Nick Epling. Other articles and sources are listed in the materials.
