Three examples of the hour-long 'Teachng The Spy Hop Way' teacher training, where Myke Johnson takes participants through the different philosophies of creative design and youth engagement. These techniques foster youth voice and empowerment, as well as creating a safe space for artistic exploration. Some of these tools include listening techniques, inquiry based learning structures and quick, fun activities that transform a classroom into a hands-on artistic learning environment.

This lesson is designed to further student understanding of what it looks like to be a good Digital Citizen in their community. This lesson is to teach students about different apps they can use to create their digital stories based upon the script that they wrote. In this lesson, they will explore different video-making apps and begin to create their video using their script and storyboards.

This is a video assignment for students who are taking the CTE Emergency Medical Responder course at their public high school. This lesson/project aims at helping students use and grow their filmmaking skills while applying their knowledge of what to do in medical or environmental emergencies.

This lesson is to teach 3-5th grade students five basic individual jump rope skills.  Students will be taught how to find the correct jump rope size for them, and the five basic skills of forward jumping, backward jumping, jog step jumping, one foot jumping, and skier jumping.  They will also be shown  other jumps they can try for fun.  They will work alone, and then with a partner who will video them doing the five different skills.  They then have a rubric to fill out and self-assess their jumping.  They will be taught about basic digital citizenship skills of getting permission before filming others and not posting videos online without their parents permission.

This lesson is for art teachers interested in brining film making into their setting. Students will be asked to create a piece that looks at their "purpose." It should be treated a celebration of the student, where others identify strengths of their classmates, and create a film on it. 

This is a lesson plan designed to deeped understanding of real world, multistep math problems for the 5th grade.  It could be adapted to any grade level.  Students will need to understand basic math operations and apply them to either act out a real world problem, or act as the teacher and take a deep dive in how to solve the problem presented.  It is designed mostly to use with metric and customary conversions, but could be applied to any real world problem.

This is a lesson introducing students to storyboards and beginning to think about how to create a story to film in a future lesson. Students will work backward to write a storyboard for a short film, will brainstorm and outline their story they want to share, and will then flesh it out as a storyboard and will think about the shot the want, the audio they want to add and they will revise their lessons based on feedbakc from teachers and peers.

This is a lesson plan for third grade students. Students will choose one math skill or concept they learned this year and come up with a real world example of that concept. For example, finding the perimeter of their yard for a fence. They will create a three scene storyboard and then act out their storyboard. With the help of the teacher, they will film this example and later share it with the class. Students will peer review each others videos and participate in a discussion about the topic.
