This is a lesson introducing students to storyboards and beginning to think about how to create a story to film in a future lesson. Students will work backward to write a storyboard for a short film, will brainstorm and outline their story they want to share, and will then flesh it out as a storyboard and will think about the shot the want, the audio they want to add and they will revise their lessons based on feedbakc from teachers and peers.

A class at Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky, becomes a production studio as students learn about filmmaking in Vanessa Miller’s yearlong film course.

This is a lesson plan for third grade students. Students will choose one math skill or concept they learned this year and come up with a real world example of that concept. For example, finding the perimeter of their yard for a fence. They will create a three scene storyboard and then act out their storyboard. With the help of the teacher, they will film this example and later share it with the class. Students will peer review each others videos and participate in a discussion about the topic.  

This three-act math task utilizes videos and questioning to help students explore comparing and ordering decimals.

We plan to facilitate several engineering lessons that requires students to design, build ROV controllers, calculate weight, underwater thrust and buoyancy.

Students will learn about SMART financial goals and then complete a worksheet where they will set personal financial goals, both long and short term.

This activity helps students experience the responsibility of finding a financial institution that fits their needs.

Students will understand the services and payment options available from financial institutions, specifically checking and savings accounts and other payment methods.

This lesson is a google site created with different resources for teaching financial literacy to 2nd graders. They will explore different ways to pay and the pros and cons of them. They will utilize jamboard, forms, slides, and sites to complete various tasks in the order they choose.
