This is the lesson plan for 4th grade Chinese DLI - Culture emmersion. All the contents are designed by my own teaching experience. The students need to be intermediate to advanced low level to learn with this lesson plan.

This lesson uses My Plate to help students learn how many servings they need from each food group.

Students will read from selected materials about earthquakes, volcanoes, continental features, ocean floor features, rocks and/or fossils, and develop a question to investigate.

A Christmas Carol LessonThis lesson uses the acronym STEAL to teach characterization as students read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Time Frame: 10 ELA blocks of about 30 min each.

Cinderella stories and graphic organizers help students with their reading, comprehension, and oral presentation skills.

The use of multicultural versions of the story Cinderella helps students make comparisons and observations.

Several version of Cinderella are read to students as they fill out comparison charts. The fairy tale genre is introduced.

2nd grade Students will be integrating social studies cultural awareness with cultural stories of Cinderella. Students will listen to the Charles Perrault version of Cinderella and identify the main characters, plot and conflict. They will read another version and identify similarities and differences of the two stories. They will create Venn diagrams to look at similarities and differences of their own school cultures and then use Venn diagrams to look at similarities and differences of Cinderella stories. With this information, they will create their own Cinderella story.

In this lesson plan, educators will learn to teach their students circuit training skills for a more diverse workout using lunges, crunches, squats, push-ups, and more. 

This is a 30-minute lesson plan designed to help upper-elementary grade students understand the importance of citing their online sources and how to do it when completing a research project.

This lesson activity is to take place in the middle of a Civil War Unit. This activity will take place when the major battles are being disucssed in chronological order. Studetns will have the opportunity to become more familiar with three of the five battles that have been provided for them. This is a digital lesson where each student needs a computer device and headphones. This is not an acutal assessment, but one assignment in the understanding of the Civil War to write a post unit paper.   

Students will be engaged in learning about American history prior and during the Civil War. They will be exploring historical documents and learning about the stories of people involved. This set of lessons extends over several days and focuses on "The Crisis, No. 1" by Thomas Paine. Students closely read and annotate the text. Students identify and evaluate claims and evidence in the text. Students present their findings to the class. Finally, students collaboratively write short arguments identifying claims and evidence in "The Crisis, No. 1." Students present their arguments to the class, and the class discusses and assesses the arguments.

This Class Pet Persuasive Essay is a fun engaging activity because students will be making a Spark Adobe Video as the cumutative assessment. The lesson plan goes through each step following the writing process of brainstorming, writing a rough draft, editing, revising and then a publish video. Graphic organizers are provided along with resources such as youtube, Utah Online Library, Wonderopolis, and google search articles, for students to use for information.

This set of lessons extends over several days. Students watch a Prezi and take notes about the classical appeals (ethos, pathos, and logos). Students then read and annotate (focusing on the classical appeals) Winston Churchill's "Be Ye Men of Valour" and Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "Pearl Harbor Address to the Nation." Students work in groups to complete a graphic organizer which helps them analyze the classical appeals in the speeches. Finally, students write an analysis of ethos, pathos, and logos in one of the speeches.

Students will compare the forces of pushing and pulling. Students will also recognize that objects at rest will not move unless a force is applied to them.
