This is a lesson plan with a curriculum that helps teachers accomplish their responsibilities for transition planning in the classroom. There are several tools that are available to teachers, and combined into this lesson plan, to help support teachers, and in turn students throughout the transition plan.

This is a discovery learning lesson which can be adapted across multiple contexts with appropriate scaffolding from the teacher.  Students get involved in promoting recycling in their school by making posters and videos to post by the vending machines after researching the benefits of recycling.Image source for thumbnail: free clipart library

This is a video that helps teach students with special needs, or students that struggle with social skills, appropriate responses when interacting with peers. Both positive and negative examples are given to show cause and effect. This resource helps reinforce positive social skills and can help students engage more appropriately with their peers.
After showing students this video, you can have them practice different scenarios, that will help them generalize appropriate social skills in their environment.

These resources are organized according to the three federal early childhood indicators of the State Performance Plan (34 CFR § 300.601; USBE Special Education Rule VIII.E.). School districts are required to provide special education preschool services to students ages 3-5 who reside in their school district boundaries and who are eligible for special education services (34 CFR § 300.800; USBE Special Education Rule VIII.Q.).
