This lesson provides students with information about the main events and key players involved in Utah women’s suffrage over the course of several key periods: 1) enfranchisement (1870), 2) disfranchisement (1871-1887), 3) re-enfranchisement with statehood (1888-1896), and 4) the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (1920). Students will read an informational text to learn about the early struggle for Utah women’s voting rights. They will then develop a plan for a memorial honoring women’s suffrage in Utah.

This lesson is aimed at ELL students, it includes basic elements of grammar such as the meaning of a noun, as part of a complete sentence. It also includes seven mini-lessons to explain some of the English language rules to convert a single noun into a plural noun.The lesson includes some practice and a quiz to check knowledge acquisition. There is no specific grade as it is part of ELL instruction.

This is a lesson that involves students learning and knowing about the different habitats. Students will have a chance to share their knowledge by creating a video about their habitat using an iMovie as a means to demonstrate their knowledge. They are asked to pick one habitat, give facts and details to it, ,record their voices, and pick imaged that match it. Each video should be 1-3 minutes long. 

In this 4 week lesson students learn about different habitats and then use the pages app and keynote app to create a report and presentation on the habitat learned about.

This is a research lesson for second grade! After completeing your habitat lessons this project will help students dive deeper into habitats as well as learning how to create a reserch project. In this Nearpod, students first watch a 3 minute video about habitats. They then sort 8 animals into the appropriate habitats.

This class activity is designed to introduce young learners to the concept of tree diagrams. This class activity requires learners to organize data about the individual student's physical characteristics(gender, hair and eye color) utilizing connecting cubes. The activity includes a follow up activity, questions, tips on getting started, a teacher resource page, and a printable version of the problem.
