A young mouse is starting school for the first time! Henry can't wait for kindergarten, where he'll sing songs, play games and learn his ABCs. He has a lot of questions for his mom about what to expect. But when he arrives, a slight case of the first-day jitters curbs his excitement. All is well, though, when Henry starts to see familiar sights and makes a new friend. Nancy Carlson's book Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come! is told with delightful charm by narrator Melanie Renate and set to music by Franz Hoffmeister, a close friend of Mozart's in 18th-century Austria.

In this Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool the children’s interest in art grew, so they decided to open a classroom art museum.

How many times have you heard young children (or their parents) proudly exclaim how high they can count? Children love to master the sequence of counting words—reciting the number names in the same order every time—just as they love to sing their ABCs. In the first video, this lively preschooler gets a quick look at a dot card, and then uses a small set of counters to produce a set of the same quantity.

The traditional approach to instruction relies on all students in each classroom being at the same place in their learning journey each day. We know this ideal can be practically impossible to achieve. By leveraging blended learning tools, innovative planning and facilitation practices that put students at the center of their learning, educators can create opportunities for truly personalized, competency based learning. In this session, we will explore the support that educators need in order to implement self-paced, mastery-based learning with their students and how administrators can create a culture of innovation that will ultimately respond to all learners’ needs.
