There are many different kinds of family structures that function together as a unit. Family activities help family relationships grow and contribute to family pride and unity.

Students will define and learn about family life cycles and understand the various forms of families.

This lesson discusses sibling rivalry, birth order and negative and positive aspects of relationships. This is part of the Family Unit (Fam).

Research project and presentation based on the novel The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom. 

This is a 3rd grade research project.  The final product will be a 5-pargraph essay and a digital presentation.  

The theme of this unit is the sights and customs of Beijing. In this unit, we will learn about high-speed rail, hutongs, courtyard houses, Wangfujing, the Great Wall, Peking Opera, teahouses, Beijing snacks, and other content with Beijing characteristics. By learning the content of this unit, students will have a more detailed understanding of Beijing. This is also very helpful for them to take AP exams in the future.

This lesson is designed to help middle school students understand the Fantasy Genre in literature.  What makes fantasy different than realistic fiction or historical fiction.  They will learn the elements of fantasy and then act out a short 5 minute fantasy using those elements.  

This lesson is on a Fantasy Vacation. It utilizes Google Earth. This assignment allows student flexibility to learn about a new location of their choice, conduct some basic research and provide information on what they learned after they explore pre-selected locations. This lesson is designed for students to work individually, however, depending on the need of your students, you could assign this assignment to a pair of students or a group. 

This is a 5 day lesson plan that will introduce students to the variety of careers in the fashion, apparel and textile industries.  Students will be introduced to the pathway and degrees available to them in Utah.  Students will be able to participate in different aspects of the industry by designing and creating a textile project. 

Students will research fashions of the 20th century, and prepare a presentation of what influenced, and what fashions were for their assigned era.
