TuvaLabs Data Stories provide resources for teachers to engage students in rich discourse about an interesting topic and then allows students to come to conclusions using mathematical reasoning and tools.

This set of lessons extends over several days and focuses on "The Crisis, No. 1" by Thomas Paine. Students closely read and annotate the text. Students identify and evaluate claims and evidence in the text. Students present their findings to the class. This set of lessons extends over several days. Students watch a Prezi and take notes about the classical appeals (ethos, pathos, and logos). Students then read and annotate (focusing on the classical appeals) Winston Churchill's "Be Ye Men of Valour" and Franklin Delano Roosevelt's "Pearl Harbor Address to the Nation." Students work in groups to complete a graphic organizer which helps them analyze the classical appeals in the speeches. Finally, students write an analysis of ethos, pathos, and logos in one of the speeches.

This first course in the physics curriculum introduces classical mechanics. Historically, a set of core concepts—space, time, mass, force, momentum, torque, and angular momentum—were introduced in classical mechanics in order to solve the most famous physics problem, the motion of the planets.

Students will compare the forces of pushing and pulling. Students will also recognize that objects at rest will not move unless a force is applied to them.

The topic of this video module is how to classify animals based on how closely related they are. The main learning objective is that students will learn how to make phylogenetic trees based on both physical characteristics and on DNA sequence. Students will also learn why the objective and quantitative nature of DNA sequencing is preferable when it come to classifying animals based on how closely related they are. Knowledge prerequisites to this lesson include that students have some understanding of what DNA is and that they have a familiarity with the base-pairing rules and with writing a DNA sequence.

This resource is a Science student activity that utilizes Utah's Online Library resources - specifically, Gale's Kids InfoBits - to help students learn about classifying spiders.

This lesson plan outlines a way that students can have a mock Constitutional convention. They will read and discuss the four plans of government proposed at the convention and discuss the points that were compromised to create the U.S. Constitution.

Classroom Discussion is when students are invited to speak about the topic at hand with clear procedures for engaging in different roles during discussion.
