This activity is designed to help students get to know the Representatives serving their district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Students will be tasked with researching and analyzing the political background, voting history, and floor activities of the Representatives serving several local districts.

This is a project for students to create at the beginning of a school year to connect with each other and their teacher. Instead of using stock photos, students will take pictures, upload them, and place them in their presentation. Students will present their "All about me" presentation to the class.

In this activity about light and refraction, learners discover how a lens creates an image that hangs in midair. A large Fresnel lens creates upside-down images of distant objects and right-side-up images of nearby objects. Learners can locate the upside-down images by using a piece of white paper as a screen. The story defining these connections describes a moment long ago during which two hunters came upon a mysterious woman standing on a mound. She was hungry, so they offered her a hawk, and she promised to repay the kindness as she disappeared into the sky. When the hunters returned to the mound later, corn had grown in her place. And so the Choctaw regard this unknown woman as the reason they have corn.
