This Lesson Plan uses a Readers Theatre "The Ant and the Grasshopper" by Lois Walker to learn about protagonists and antagonists. Students compare similarities and differences between the two using a Venn diagram and describe the similarities and differences.

Students will read and observer ants to discover how ants are the same and different than people.

This lesson is designed for teachers who would like to use one general lesson to teach several aspects of Internet safety. The subjects of cyber-bullying, cell phone safety and Internet safety are stressed.

This activity is intended to assess your 3rd grade students' ability to find area and perimeter of rectangles and squares. Students will be creating a robot using Google Drawing. They will then find the area and perimeter of each piece of the robot. This is a lesson intended for 6th-grade mathematics on deriving the formula for the area of a triangle based upon prior knowledge of parallelograms. In this 28 day unit, students will gain background information on historic wars, compare different genres' presentations of events, recognize different points of view, research an essential question, compile evidence, create warrants that lead to a claim which answers the essential question, and write an argumentative essay.

Students will discover a policy within their school or district that is important to them and that they'd like to change. They will conduct an investigation of the policy in question and write a letter with their claim, results, and recommendation to the appropriate audience.

Students will create an art masterpiece using fractions to divide a whole into equal parts. Ipad will be used as a document camera to show the procedure and at the end, the teacher will use the iPad camera to take pictures of students' work.

This is a lesson for introducing Similes with photography. Students will learn about Similes, then use photography to gain a deeper understanding and show their learning. They will take original pictures and borrow pictures from online to illustrate their chosen similes.They will be introduced to Wikimedia Commons, a great website for finding openly-licensed photographs. Students will use their bodies to act out the motions of Earth by exploring orbits, rotations, and the turning of the earth as it revolves around the sun. Doing research to find correct answers to their questions will help them act out the movements correctly.

Students will use what they know about atoms & molecules to decide whether an example is an atom or a molecule.
