During the class' plant unit, students will observe a plant and write and illustrate what they have learned in their discovery journal.

Using the interactive writing procedures, students will write sentences and illustrate ways seeds travel.

In this lesson, students will learn a simple, kid friendly way to do research.  Their notes will later be used as they write an informational animal report.

In this lesson students identify the ways families provide basic needs to their members.Students create and publish a booklet to display this information. This lesson is designed to have a class of older children buddy with the first graders to help with the reading and writing.
