This is a science unit plan for 1st grade about different biomes/habitats and what the characteristics and adaptations are of the animals that live there. It is a technology based unit using resources like Nearpod, Adobe Spark, LMS, etc.Title Image: MathKnight -at- TAU, Nov. 11, 2015, Animals of Israel, CC-BY-SA-3.0
This lesson takes students through 3 iPad apps to explore and explain animal habitats. Students will use the drawing tool in Pages to complete two pictures of animal habitats, use Keynote to follow links to San Diego zoo cameras and record their own audio describing the exhibits, and finally use iMovie to record themselves in their favorite animal habitat!*The thumbnail image was taken by Lindsay Stahl at the Living Planet Aquarium
In this lesson, students will reflect briefly on different habitats and adaptations of animals that help them survive in those environments before diving into one specific example of animal adaptation -- the beaver. Students will learn about the behavioral and physical adaptations that help the beaver to survive and thrive in its river environment. Photo by mana5280 on Unsplash.
This lesson plan teaches students about the habitats found around the world and encourages digital fluency by requiring them to explore digital resourses and create an Adobe Photo Page. First, students will question, discuss, view, explore, read, and research to build their knowledge. Then they will demonstrate this knowlege by choosing a habitiat, selecting appropriate photos, adding descriptive informational text, and providing correct citations to their projects. They will then publish and share their projects with their peers.
