Children will talk about themselves and how they have changed over time.  Talk about what a child is able to typically do at age 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Discuss changes they have seen in themselves and things that they have learned to do over the years (movement, walking, talking, learning different things, etc.)

This is a Preschool learning activity about Community Helpers. It is designed to be done at home, on Preschool off-days, with assistance from an adult. Students will be working through a Google Slide presentation with videos teaching about 5 different community helpers, and taking notes and adding pictures about the Community Helpers they learned about. 

Students will learn about their own heritage by filling in an outline and then creating a poster.

Students will review cooking terminology discussed in Foods I using a packet and game. The students will also be participating in a knife skills lab.

While investigating the properties of rocks, students will create a classroom rock collection.

From Eric Curts' Control Alt Achieve, he outlines how to use Google Docs' new create a dropdown feature to help students do close reading. It is a fairly simple idea with some great applications across content areas. Basically, copy a paragraph of text, remove the important words, and make a color-coded dropdown.
