We will look at our 3 foreign language resources, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos, Banco de Contenidos aulaPlaneta, and L’Encyclopédie Découverte, as well as features within our core products such as read-aloud functions, translations, different reading levels, and more!

standards outline essential knowledge,
concepts, and skills to be mastered at
each grade level or within a critical
content area. The standards provide a

stress the application of learning a language beyond the instructional setting. The goal is to
prepare learners to apply the skills and understandings measured by the Standards, to bring a
global competence to their future careers and experiences.

Dani and Jared welcome the eTwinz, Mario and Alberto Herraez- 5th and 6th Grade Spanish Immersion teachers from Davis School District, to UEN Homeroom this week. Our discussion centered around the role that language has in expanding student perspectives and opening them to diverse cultures. Topics this week include: the benefits of dual language programs in schools, how teachers can provide global experiences for their students, the role technology can play in building culture in the classroom, and how to get started using language and culture to engage students.
