"How Wood Tick Became Flat" is a tale from the Northwestern Band of Shoshone Nation. This tale helps students become familiar with cultural storytelling and its importance in Native cultures. Students will have a brief introduction to the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation and thier location in Utah. This lesson include an experience eliciting discussion and literacy activities. Students will create a diamante poem using a Native American tale. 

This lesson was created to help elementary-aged students better understand the world around them through the use of Flat Stanley.

This lesson explores digital citizenship and the power of words.  It helps students learn the difference between kind and hurtful comments used in person and online.  It does this through fun interactive games and also has digital elements like videos, online books, and padlet.

This is a lesson for applying persuasive writing elements in a real worl scenario by having students create a persuasive advertisement for a product through the use of the iMovie app.

This lesson is designed for beginning writers to develop an understanding of opinion/persuasive writing. Students will examine a piece of work written by an author using opinion writing. Students will be guided through how to use a graphic organizer to help organize their writing and to assure all the proper elements have been included in their opinion writing.
