The students will learn the difference between inherited and acquired traits. They will fill out a chart of traits for their classmates and identify which of them are inherited.

Students will be able to define inherited and acquired and know if their body shape is acquired or inherited. The students will also learn factors that influence their body shape.

In this mini-unit, students learn basic vocabulary about insurance and then play an online game called “That’s a Bummer” to practice knowledge learned. Additional activities in this lesson include an insurance edpuzzle, video resources, reflection questions, and an insurance math worksheet.

This unit is intended to help students understand the importance of avoiding, reducing, and transfering risk. Insurance is the best way to manage risk. (Correlates with NEFE).

This lesson provides a summative project for the students to complete that fills a number of the performance objective requirements.

This lesson will help students identify a variety of teen behaviors on the Internet and the positive and negative consequences of these behaviors. The students will learn the type of behaviors that will help them be safer when on the Internet.

Students will be introduced to the concept of supply and demand. Next, students will play the game “In the Chips” to show how Supply and Demand works and how the market finds its equilibrium.  The lesson will conclude with reflection and class discussion

This activity helps students understand that science writing is organized in identifiable patterns called text structures. Understanding and using these different text structures help refine students' abilities to both read and write in science.

In this lesson, students learn about archetypes and spend time analyzing their use in both traditional and modern stories.

Students will use Greek root words, suffixes and prefixes, to 'create' polysyllable words.

In this lesson students will recognize the difference between reasonable and unreasonable risk, plan to avoid risk, and identify factors that influence decision making.

Students will learn how various environmental and cultural changes impacted the treatment of Japanese Americans in Utah.so

This lesson helps students see that rules exist to keep themselves and others safe.

Students will identify the benefits of relaxation and recognize ways to relax the body and mind in this lesson.

In the Library Learning Center, students will learn searching strategies to find valid and relevant articles in EBSCO, Gale and Google Scholar.Using the 5 Ws of website evaluation (Who, What, When, Where and Why), students will evaluate 7 websites and complete a Website Evaluation graphic organizer.
