    Overview

    Children will be assigned a main character in a story they have recently read.  They will act out the story with a beginning, middle, and end. 

    Summary

    Children will be assigned a main character in a story they have recently read.  They will act out the story with a beginning, middle, and end. 

    Materials

    • Facial Expressions for each of moods discussed in the story
    • Materials to make props if needed.  This could include the following:
      • Popsicle sticks
      • Glue
      • Labels
    • Picture book Theo’s Mood by Maryann Cocca-Leffler

    Background for Teachers/Parents

    It is recommended you read Theo’s Mood by Maryann Cocca-Leffler multiple times prior to completing this activity.

    Intended Learning Outcomes

    • Children will act out the known story to include main events from the beginning, middle, and end of the story. 
    • Children will take turns and engage in conversations with peers and adults.
