Each of these twenty-one poems or poetic forms for AP Literature and Composition includes a link to the poem and multimedia resources such as EDSITEment lessons and EDSITEment-reviewed websites that discuss the poem, the poet, and its context.

This session is designed to help K-12 teachers and library media specialists effectively use the wealth of information resources in Utah's Online Library to improve and enhance student research. The session guides participants through using online databases through each step of the research process. Participants will learn how to use research tools to cite, gather, and organize their research.
This is the second lesson in a series of two introducing the Gale Reference Library. Students will browse the Opposing Viewpoints in Context on Gale Reference Library. After choosing a debatable topic, students will read the overview to summarize the argument and identify opposing claims. Next, students will choose two resources (one representing each side of the debate) and evaluate the claim and argument for each resource.
Before reading, create a graphic organizer that uses the titles and subtitles of an informational text.

Clues to Walt Whitman's effort to create a new and distinctly American form of verse may be found in his Notebooks, now available online from the American Memory Collection. In an entry to be examined in this lesson, Whitman indicated that he wanted his poetry to explore important ideas of a universal scope (as in the European tradition), but in authentic American situations and settings using specific details with direct appeal to the senses.

Anthony, participated in the formative years of the Women's Rights Movement.
