Students will learn about SMART financial goals and then complete a worksheet where they will set personal financial goals, both long and short term.
This activity helps students experience the responsibility of finding a financial institution that fits their needs.
Students will understand the services and payment options available from financial institutions, specifically checking and savings accounts and other payment methods.
Students are given a list of materials that exist in the library. They have a time limit to find the materials. Answer a question about each item on the list and return the paper to the teacher.
Students will begin using NoodleTools to set up a research project, bibliography and notecards on their selected topic. They will be guided by their research question. Using the notes taken on previous article reading, they will cite the articles in NoodleTools and transcribe previous notes. Students will then use Webpath Express, or other vetted search tool to find sources, cite these new sources and take notes. Additionally students will use resources in Utah's Online Library to find more sources.
Students will use rock samples to determine the density of Earth.
This lesson assesses how much the students know concerning first-aid and then continues on, giving them real life examples to figure out what to do in emergency situations. They will present their findings to the class. The lesson concludes with a post-test to see how much they learned.

Balls of varying weights are used to discover the results of force applied to an object.
The teacher puts pieces of potatoes in water and salt water. The students predict what is going to happen and try to name what makes this happen.
This lesson provides students with an opportunity to design and draw to scale a floor plan for a home including but not limited to; a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom.
Students will learn about different cultures through dance.
Students graph their estimations of caloric intake and caloric expenditures
Prior to starting the project students will take a home safety survey. Students will complete a powerpoint presentation on a foodborne illness and present it to the class. As an additional activity we will do an experiment on food safety
This lesson helps the students to understand how foods affect their body. We will be focusing on the benefits of healthy food and why it is important to eat such foods. Each student will be given the opportunity to bring in a healthy food to share with the class and talk about how that food affects certain parts of the body.
Basic review of food borne illness; sources, symptoms, and prevention. Internal temperatures are introduced and proper storage placement when refrigerating.
