When light passes through a prism, the glass slows the light down. Different colors in white light have different wavelengths. Each wavelength is refracted a different amount, causing them to separate into different colors in the process of dispersion.

The basics of using a microscope, and then shows them how to use the light source, condenser, iris diaphram, and different objectives, to get the most out of viewing through the microscope. Students also learn simple methods to create dark field lighting and colored-field lighting as well as polarized light microscopy that will greatly increase their microscopy skills and viewing. The program provides clear examples and beautiful photomicroscopy that will inspire students to build and improve their microscopy skills.
