The students will experiment with various objects observing how gravity affects the objects. Students will test the effects of gravity on themselves and other objects.

This is an introductory unit on Greek and Latin roots. There are three lists with accompanying learning tasks.

Students read a brochure about disease prevention and create a poster promoting one disease prevention point.

Through story and media activities, students will learn about the concept of "Bucket filling" and submit a sample via Opinion ways they plan to use bucket filling. The purpose of the lesson is to teach awareness of how you treat others can have an effect on your own happiness and how your interactions can have an effect on yourself, others and the community.

The students will play a jeopardy game for a review for the health unit test.

Students will learn about and be able to apply different aspects of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. They will understand how physical activity impacts personal health. The students will rotate through four academic stations that include a technology station, two exploration stations and a text station.

We will discuss give examples and talk about proper portion sizes based on MyPlate. Then students will create their own MyPlate, using cut outs from food magazines.

The students will learn about respecting their self and others. Students will learn how important self esteem is to a good mental and physical health.

Students will explore the impact of magazine advertisements on body image and individual purchasing.

3rd grade students will learn about the importance of good nutrition. They will learn about the nutrients in our food and how they help us to stay healthy.

As teens develop relationships, it is pertinent that they grow an understanding of healthy and unhealthy relationships. This lesson focuses on the basics of relationships and dating violence.

Objective 1. Foods that comprise a healthy diet. Physical activity to maintain optimal body weight.

Students will learn that heat is produced from human activities and mechanical and electrical machines. Heat is produced almost anywhere.

Students explore the science involved in the making of items used in colonial life: bread, butter, soap, candles, wool, etc.

Students will design a butterfly so that it can be hidden somewhere in the room. Students in the next class or on the next day will look for the butterflies.

Students will use primary source materials to investigate significant events in American History of the 19th Century.
