    Instruction

This will be a 2-3 week project.

    • Day 1- Explain to students what the project is going to be and the grading component of it. Explain the rubric and that they will be taught the things they need to know to make a good film using just their mobile device.
      • Do review of the sentence structures that they will be working with for their video.
      • Give them the new vocabulary for the city have the students take notes on it.
      • Give students time to practice the new vocabulary with something like Quizlet or Kahoot.
    • Day 2- Review the requirements of the project with the students, then give them time to start working on their storyboard. One of the requirements will be that they go to at least 6 places to describe them, so they need to include the six places they will go on their storyboard.
      • Storyboard template: Storyboard Template by Storyboard That
        • After their storyboard is complete they start writing their script.  They can choose to have characters to talk at each place. Do it as a narrator or any other way they might find fun and creative.  Script template:
    • Day 3- Teach the students about shooting film by using Youtube videos. Since for this is for a Spanish class, I am not looking at the students know the names of each type of shot, This video works great for teaching a basic film shot. Basic Film shot Explain that you need more than 1 shot of each area to make the film look good.
      • Take time to teach students about Audio work. The students will watch this Youtube video to help with creating better audio. Audio basics
      • Students need to get with their groups and decide who is video what part of the city, so that they can go out and get the footage over the weekend.
    • Day 4: Students come together to upload footage onto one persons computer to prepare for the editing process.
      • Take time to teach the editing process.  The students will be using Adobe Rush as that is what is available at school. Take time to go over how to use during the class period. Start the editing process.  At this point discussion of digital citizenship will take place, so that students know how to cite things and give credit to those that do the work.
      • Students will work together to edit the movie, add music and titles and credits.
    • Day 5: Movie presentation uploaded into Canvas, for peer Review.  The students will need to make a positive comment about what they did in their movie and an area that can be improved. Since this is a Spanish lesson, they need to look at vocabulary and grammar particulary.
      • After peer reviews students will have time to fix errors and upload the finished version of their movie for grading.
    • Day 6: Film Festival for Mi Comunidad.  Students will share their films with the class in general and others that would like to see what they created.
