Help children recognize traditions they have in their own families and provide them with an opportunity to share part of that culture with others. Have child(ren) share a drawing, a photo, music they enjoy, food, etc.
Summary
Help children recognize traditions they have in their own families and provide them with an opportunity to share part of that culture with others. Cultures can include how children live, members of their family living in the same locations, things they often cook together or eat often, the ways they dress, how they interact with loved ones, traditions they celebrate, etc.
Have them share a drawing, a photo, music they enjoy, food, etc.
Materials
Materials will vary based on what the child would like to share with others.
Background for Teachers/Parents
Refer to family members as people that live in the same house. Be aware that all families look different. Be sensitive to those they may not want to share.

Children will share something about themselves and their home culture
