This lesson focuses on quadrilaterals and attributes in order to classify each shape (parallelogram, rhombus, square, rectangle, and trapezoid). Students will review traits, identify shared traits and names of quadrilaterals, by identifying quadrilaterals in a video story. Then they will show their understanding by creating a quadrilateral story that explains traits and shared traits/names between quadrilaterals. This lesson will take approx 2 math sessions (or approx 120 min.)Thumbnail Image Citation: Bouwhuis, Laura. Something I like about this resource is, how creative it is. I don't think that we use technology enough in math.
An opportunity for improvement of this resource is, that the fourth grade standard 4.G.2 could also be included in the standards on this lesson plan. I can definitely see myself (a 4th grade teacher) using this to help teach.
Something I wonder about this resource is, how long may this activity take?
One new idea to consider in the design of this resource is, maybe split up by days or sessions in might take for a teacher to teach it.

Thanks for the compliment, and advice!
I added in instructional time, including suggested days split.
I also included a 5th grade standard that could align; I didn't find a 4th grade standard that really fit with the content of this lesson as it was more specific to perpendicular lines and triangles.
