Description

Overview:
This is a fun and creative way for students to demonstrate their understanding of eukaryotic cell organelles. Students will create a bio poem about an organelle as if the organelle were a person. Their final product will be a poster or video of their poem that can be shared with the class. This lesson includes a bio poem organizer for students, as well as various links to interactive organelle structure and function websites.

After receiving helpful feedback, I changed the method of sharing student projects from a simple gallery walk to an organelle "speed dating/musical chairs" (basically just randomly pair kids up several times) activity that allows students to discuss how two different organelles work together to help a cell perform it's function. It takes students one step closer to understanding the interrelating roles of each organelle.
