    Overview

    This is a lesson plan designed to be used in Family & Consumer Sciences adult roles. It can be used as an activity while learning about self concept, but could also be a getting to know you activity for the beginning of a course.

    Summary

     

      This Lesson Plan fits along well with the Adult Roles Strand 1 Standard 1

      To be used after students have discussed what self concept and how it is attained

      45-60 min

      Students work on their own individual projects

       

      Background for Teachers

       

        To teach this lesson, you will need an understanding of Self Concept and how it is built and preserved.  You will need to understand how to use AdobeSpark to create digital storyboards

        Student Prior Knowledge

         

        • Prior to this lesson, students will need to have an understanding of how Self Concept and self esteem are built and preserved and how it related to the perception of individual strengths and weaknesses.
        • Students need a basic understanding of how to use adobe spark

        Student Learning Intentions & Success Criteria

         

        Learning Intentions:

        • Students will create a digital story about themselves.

        Success Criteria:

        • Students will emphasize their positive characteristics and capabilities.

         

         

         

        Instructional Procedures

        1. Engage students by Sharing an example of "Self Concept Commerical of Me"

        2. Get students writing their own "Commercial of Me" by filling out the form "All about Me".

        3. Students find pictures and use storyboard template to get their digital story organized.

        4. Using AdobeSpark students will bein narrating their "all about me"  story.

        5. Share students stories on teachers blog or youtube page.
