This lesson is designed for teachers who would like to use one general lesson to teach several aspects of Internet safety. The subjects of cyber-bullying, cell phone safety and Internet safety are stressed.
After reviewing the positives and negatives of cell phones and cell phone usage safety tips, students will explore a scenario in which a friendly relationship turns to a bullying one involving cell phones and computers.
Students will be able to explain good hygiene and provide examples. The lesson will explore disease prevention, treating colds and flu's, and negative effects of poor hygiene habits.
Students will predict possible consequences of substance use and analyze how social messages regarding the use of alcohol, tobacco/nicotine and other drugs may misrepresent the negative effects of each.
This lesson is adapted from Google's Be Internet Awesome Lesson 1: Share With Care. It specifically focuses on Activity 1: When not to share and Activity 4: Keeping it Private.
Students will identify what makes them unique. Students will identify physical differences and similarities between themselves and other students. Students will learn the effects of treating people different because of race, culture or ethnic backgrounds. Students will learn to accept others differences.
In this lesson students will analyze their favorite fast food places for calories, fats, and other nutrients to decide whether or not fast food restaurants can be part of a healthy diet.
