    Dance to Express Emotions

    Dance to Express Emotions

    Overview

Children will listen to music and move their bodies to express the feelings of the music piece(s) presented.

    Summary

Play several pieces of music and have your child(ren) identify the emotion of the piece and move to express that emotion.

    Background for Teachers/Parents

Children may need to discuss the emotion felt through the music piece and ideas of what movements may resemble that feeling.  For example, an excited piece may require large, rapid movement while a sad piece may require small, close body movement.

    Intended Learning Outcomes

Children will move their bodies to express the feelings of the music piece(s) presented.
