About me

🎙️ Kayla Towner, the tech enthusiast. She is a technology specialist and product manager at the Utah Education Network (UEN). She is all about making learning awesome. Whether it’s finding the hidden gems in Utah’s Online School Library, seeking the possibilities of PCBL, wielding AI tools, diving into robotics, exploring virtual realms (hello, Minecraft Education!), or producing a podcast, she is all for it.
🏆 Certified and Committed: Kayla rocks badges like a Student Voice Ambassador (Flip), an Advanced Nearpod Certified Educator, a Google Level 1 Certified Educator, a Microsoft Innovative Expert (MIE), and an ISTE Certified Educator. Kayla was awarded the 2023 Honors in Education Award and the 2020 UCET Outstanding Young Educator Award. Kayla holds a Master’s Degree in the Arts of Teaching from Westminster University. Her classroom experiences as an elementary school teacher in Utah and Daegu, South Korea, shaped her understanding of the educational landscape and how to support all types of learners.
🌱 Life’s Simple Joys: Kayla revels in life’s little pleasures when she's not tech-surfing. Picture this: watching her mini-humans grow, embarking on wild adventures with her partner-in-crime, and sipping coffee with just the right amount of cream. Oh, and audiobook mysteries? Consider her hooked. Imperfectly perfect—that’s her teaching mantra.

Kayla’s motto? “We don’t need to strive for perfection; we should strive to be significant.” 🌟✨
