The objectives of this lesson are to recognize and appreciate qualities and attributes that make each person "one of a kind," and identify positive personal qualities and attributes in self and others.

Students are introduced to issues regarding Internet safety by doing a dramatization where students act out a scenario about a girl who puts herself at risk on the Internet. A discussion follows where students learn how and why it is critical to understand how destructive the Internet can be. Practical protective measures will be explained.

The cost of raising a baby is often overlooked. This lesson will have students explore the cost of caring for a 3-6 month old baby for one month.

This lesson plan allows students to make estimations, calculations, and to collaborate with other students to solve a problem. It also teaches valuable refusal skills to combat negative peer pressure and provides students an opportunity to role play.

Students make a movie/slide show presentation about the unique strengths, talents, and goals of class members.

Discuss changes children can identify after they have participated in a rigorous physical activity.  As you prepare to go outside, ask children to locate and place their hands over their hearts to feel the heartbeats in a rested state, notice the color in the faces, and think about how their legs and arms feel.  

This lesson is designed to help students understand the dangers of pornography. Caution will also be given about Internet predators and pedophiles and the cycle of addiction and consequences.

Student read literature selections about positive role models, identify positive characteristics, and choose characteristics they would like to emulate.

This lesson will teach students how to identify and redirect negative thoughts and establish "positive self-talk" skills.

Understanding how to recognize potential dangers on the Internet can help students lead healthier lives. A student who spends disproportionate hours on the Internet is at risk of addiction. Areas of potential addiction include (but are not limited to) social networking addiction, gaming addiction, shopping addiction, gambling addiction and pornography addiction.

Students will learn to identify signs of suicide and identify and practice the skills of questioning, persuading and referring.

Students will create, using Showme iPAD application, a 5 slide narrated presentation about the quick decision making tool HELP. Is it healthy? Is it ethical? Is it legal? Would my parents approval?

At the end of the lesson students will be able to create pancake mix and understand the different measurements and ingredients.

Story will be re-read several times during the week.This story is about a house that has been separated into an upstairs and downstairs apartment.  A young boy named Khalil and and older gentleman, Mr. Hagerty,  form a friendship throughout the story. Together they share ideas, time, and thoughts.
